The 7 Chakras – A Beginners Guide To Your Energy System

What on Earth is a Chakra?

In many spiritual and healing disciplines, and in the world of complementary medicine the word Chakra pops up quite a bit. That’s fine if you know its meaning; not so great, and I must say pretty confusing, if you don’t. Here’s our simple summary of the 7 Chakras that covers what a Chakra is, and what the Chakra System is all about.

The 7 Chakras are the energy centres in our body in which energy flows through.

The word ‘chakra’ is derived from the sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’. Literally translated from the Hindi it means ‘Wheel of spinning Energy’. A chakra is like a whirling, vortex-like, powerhouse of energy. Within our bodies, you have seven of these major energy centres and many more minor ones. Deepak Chopra says that each of the seven chakras are governed by spiritual laws, principles of consciousness that we can use to cultivate greater harmony, happiness, and wellbeing in our lives and in the world.

You can think of chakras as invisible, rechargeable batteries.

They are charged and recharged through contact with the stream of cosmic energy in the atmosphere in much the same way that your home is connected to a central power source within a city – the only difference is that this cosmic energy source is free.

Imagine this, a vertical power current rather like a fluorescent tube that runs up and down the spine, from the top of the head to the base of the spine. Think of this as your main source of energy. The seven major chakras are in the centre of the body and are aligned with this vertical “power line. ”

Chakras connect your spiritual bodies to your physical one.

They regulate the flow of energy throughout the electrical network (meridians) that runs through the physical body. The body’s electrical system resembles the wiring in a house. It allows electrical current to be sent to every part, and it is ready for use when needed.

Sometimes chakras become blocked because of stress, emotional or physical problems. If the body’s ‘energy system’ can not flow freely it is likely that problems will occur. The consequence of irregular energy flow may result in physical illness and discomfort or a sense of being mentally and emotionally out of balance.

The 7 chakra systemThis image shows where the main chakras in are located in your body. You can read a brief, yet full explanation for each chakra below.

Chakra 7 – The Crown

The Crown Chakra, also know as the Sahastrara Chakra, is the seventh chakra, located at the top of your head. It’s associated with the color violet and is responsible for connecting us with the divine energy of the universe.

It is associated with the cerebral cortex, central nervous system and the pituitary gland. It is concerned with information, understanding, acceptance and bliss. It is said to be your own place of connection to God, the Chakra of Divine purpose and personal destiny.

A balanced Crown Chakra allows us to live in the present moment, feel a sense of purpose and spiritual connection, and experience a deep sense of peace.

But, what about a blocked Crown Chakra? Here are some signs to watch out for:

  1. Physical symptoms: headaches, migraines, dizziness, and sensitivity to light and sound.
  2. Emotional symptoms: feeling disconnected, depressed, anxious, and struggling to find meaning in life.
  3. Mental symptoms: difficulty concentrating, brain fog, and lack of creativity.
  4. Spiritual symptoms: feeling disconnected from a higher power, struggling to meditate, and feeling like you’re not living up to your spiritual potential.

So, how can you heal, strengthen and balance your Crown Chakra?

Well, one way is through yoga. The Tree Pose and Headstand are great for opening up the Crown Chakra.

In terms of essential oils, frankincense and lavender can be used to promote spiritual healing and relaxation.

There are also some energy medicine practices that can help. Reiki and acupuncture are great ways to balance your chakras and promote overall energy flow.

Chakra 6 – The Third Eye (or Ajna Chakra)

Its colour is Indigo (a combination of red and blue). It is located at the centre of your forehead at eye level or slightly above. This Chakra is used to question the spiritual nature of our life. It is responsible for our psychic abilities.

It is the Chakra of question, perception and knowing. It is concerned with inner vision, intuition and wisdom. Your dreams for this life and recollections of other lifetimes are held in this Chakra. Blockage may manifest as problems like lack of foresight, mental rigidity, ‘selective’ memory and depression.

A balanced Third Eye Chakra allows for heightened intuition, clarity of thoughts and perception. But, how do we know if it’s blocked?

Here are some symptoms to keep an eye out for:

  1. Physical symptoms may include headaches, eye pain, sinusitis, insomnia, and vision problems.
  2. Emotional symptoms may include a lack of clarity, confusion, and depression.
  3. Mental symptoms may include feeling stuck, experiencing a creative block, and difficulty with decision making.
  4. Spiritual symptoms may include feeling disconnected from your intuition and feeling ungrounded in your spiritual practice.

So, what can we do to heal, balance and strengthen the Third Eye Chakra?

Yoga poses such as Child’s Pose, Downward Dog, and Head to Knee Pose can help balance the Third Eye Chakra.

Essential oils such as frankincense and sandalwood can be used in aromatherapy to promote clarity and calmness.

Meditation is another powerful tool to strengthen the Third Eye Chakra. You can try a visualization where you imagine a bright indigo light in the middle of your forehead, expanding and clearing any blockages.

Crystals like lapis lazuli, amethyst, and clear quartz can be used to balance and stimulate the Third Eye Chakra.

Chakra 5. The Throat (Vishuddha Chakra)

The throat chakra is the fifth chakra, located in the neck area around the throat. It’s associated with the color blue or turquoise and is responsible for our ability to communicate openly and honestly with others. It is the Chakra of communication, creativity, self-expression and judgement. It is associated with your Neck, shoulders, arms, hands, thyroid and parathyroid glands. It is concerned with the senses of inner and outer hearing, the synthesising of ideas, healing, transformation and purification.

A balanced throat chakra allows for clear communication, creativity, and self-expression. But how do we know if our throat chakra is blocked? Blockage can show up as creative blocks, dishonesty or general problems in communicating ones needs to others.

Look out for these symptoms:

  1. Physical symptoms: sore throat, thyroid issues, dental problems, and ear infections.
  2. Emotional symptoms: difficulty expressing oneself, feeling like your voice isn’t heard, and feeling anxious in social situations.
  3. Mental symptoms: inability to speak up for oneself, difficulty with public speaking, and feelings of confusion.
  4. Spiritual symptoms: feeling disconnected from your inner truth and purpose, and lack of inspiration.

So, how can we balance and strengthen our throat chakra?

One way is through yoga poses such as the Fish Pose and Bridge Pose. These poses help open up the throat area and stimulate the energy flow.

In terms of essential oils, peppermint and eucalyptus help to heal and open up the throat chakra.

Meditation is also a great way to connect with your inner truth and strengthen your throat chakra. Try meditating while visualizing a bright blue light emanating from your throat.

Sound therapy is another effective way to balance the throat chakra. Listening to music, singing, chanting or using crystal singing bowls can be helpful.

Chakra 4 – The Heart (Anahata Chakra)

Its colour is green and it is located within your heart. It is the centre of love, compassion, harmony, emotional healing and peace. In certain cultures it is thought of as the house of the soul. This Chakra is associated with your lungs, heart, arms hands and thymus gland.

We fall in love through our heart Chakra, then that feeling of unconditional love moves to the emotional centre commonly known as the solar plexus. After that it moves into the sexual centre or Base Chakra where strong feelings of attraction can be released. When these energies move into the Base Chakra we may have the desire to marry and settle down.

A balanced Heart Chakra allows us to experience deep connections with others, feel empathy, and love ourselves. But, what happens when it’s blocked? Blockage can show itself as immune system, lung and heart problems, or manifest as inhumanity, lack of compassion or unprincipled behaviour.

Here are some symptoms:

  1. Physical symptoms may include heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, chest pain, and high blood pressure.
  2. Emotional symptoms may include feeling disconnected, lack of empathy, anger, and jealousy.
  3. Mental symptoms may include feeling stuck, inability to form healthy relationships, and suspicious of others.
  4. Spiritual symptoms may include a lack of direction or faith, feeling a disconnection from the divine and the world around us.

So, how can we balance and strengthen the Heart Chakra?

Yoga poses, such as Camel Pose and Cobra Pose can help open up the chest and promote energy flow.

Essential oils such as rose and bergamot can be used in aromatherapy to promote emotional healing and create a sense of tranquility.

Meditation is also powerful in opening up the heart chakra. Try focusing on feelings of self-love and compassion towards others. Imagine a glowing green light emanating from your chest, expanding with every breath.

Sound therapy is another way to balance the Heart Chakra. Listen to calming, soothing music, or try chanting the mantra “Yam” to promote love and harmony.

Chakra 3 – The Solar Plexus (Manipura Chakra)

Its colour is yellow and it is located a few inches above the navel in the solar plexus area. This chakra is concerned with your digestive system, muscles, pancreas and adrenals. It is the seat of your emotional life and is responsible for our sense of personal power, self-esteem, and confidence. Your sensitivity, ambition and ability to achieve are stored here. Feelings like laughter, joy and anger are associated with this centre.

But, what happens when it’s blocked? Blockage may manifest as anger, frustration, lack of direction, blaming others or a sense of powerlessness and victimisation.

Here are some symptoms to look out for:

  1. Physical symptoms may include digestive issues, stomach ulcers, and weight gain.
  2. Emotional symptoms may include low self-esteem, lack of confidence, and feeling powerless.
  3. Mental symptoms may include feeling indecisive, inability to take action, and fears related to success.
  4. Spiritual symptoms may include feeling disconnected from your personal power, lack of motivation and ambition.

So, how can we balance and strengthen the Solar Plexus Chakra?

Yoga poses are a great way to alleviate blockages in the Solar Plexus Chakra. Boat Pose and Warrior I can help increase our sense of power, strength, and assertiveness.

Essential oils such as ginger and lemon can promote inner strength and personal empowerment.

Meditation can also be a powerful tool in balancing the Solar Plexus Chakra. Visualize a golden yellow light emanating from your solar plexus, filling your entire body, and radiating outwards.

Sound therapy is another way to balance the Solar Plexus Chakra. Listen to uplifting music or try chanting the mantra “Ram,” which is associated with personal power.

Chakra 2 – The Sacral (Svadhishthana Chakra)

Its colour is orange and it is located between the base of your spine and your navel. It is associated with your lower abdomen, kidneys, bladder, circulatory system and your reproductive organs and glands. It is concerned with creativity, sexuality, and emotional balance. This chakra represents desire, pleasure, sexuality, procreation and creativity.

A balanced Sacral Chakra allows us to express ourselves creatively, have healthy sexual relationships, and experience emotional fulfillment. But, what happens when it’s blocked? Blockage may show up as emotional problems, compulsive or obsessive behaviour and sexual guilt.

Here’s what to look out for:

  1. Physical symptoms may include lower back pain, urinary tract infections, and reproductive health issues.
  2. Emotional symptoms may include guilt or shame surrounding your sexuality, lack of creativity, and difficulty expressing emotions.
  3. Mental symptoms may include feeling uninspired, lack of passion, and difficulty moving forward with projects or ideas.
  4. Spiritual symptoms may include feeling disconnected from the creative source, feeling like you have to suppress your true self, and feeling unable to access your intuition.

So, how can we balance and strengthen the Sacral Chakra?

Yoga poses such as Pigeon Pose and Cobra Pose can help open up the hips and lower back, promoting energy flow.

Essential oils such as ylang-ylang and jasmine can be used in aromatherapy to promote a sense of sensuality and creativity.

Meditation is another tool that can help balance the Sacral Chakra. Place your hands on your lower abdomen as you breathe deeply and focus on the color orange.

Crystals and gemstones associated with healing the Sacral Chakra include carnelian, orange calcite, and moonstone. These stones can help relieve blockages and stimulate creative energy.

Chakra 1. The Root or Base (Muladhara Chakra)

Its colour is red and it is located at the perineum. It is the Chakra closest to the earth. It is responsible for our sense of stability. Its function is concerned with earthly grounding and physical survival. This Chakra is associated with your legs, feet, bones, large intestine and adrenal glands. It controls your fight or flight response.

A healthy root chakra allows for feelings of safety and security, and a strong connection to the earth. Someone with a healthy root chakra would feel confident in their ability to provide for themselves and their basic needs.

But what happens when the root chakra is blocked? Blockage may manifest as paranoia, fear, procrastination and defensiveness. Look out for these symptoms:

  1. Physical symptoms: lower back pain, constipation, and problems with the hips, legs, and feet.
  2. Emotional symptoms: feeling anxious or fearful, and having trouble trusting others.
  3. Mental symptoms: feeling scattered or unfocused, and difficulty making decisions.
  4. Spiritual symptoms: feeling disconnected from the earth and lacking a sense of purpose.

So, how can we balance and strengthen the root chakra?

One way is through yoga poses such as the Tree Pose and the Warrior Pose. These poses help to ground and stabilize the body.

In terms of essential oils, patchouli and cedarwood are good choices for healing and balancing the root chakra.

Crystals and gemstones associated with healing the Root Chakra include red jasper, haematite and garnet.

I find that meditation or visualization is particularly helpful. Here’s an example you could practice;

Imagine a bright red light at the base of your spine, growing brighter and stronger with each breath. Visualize this light going deep into the ground like tree roots, grounding you to the earth and bringing a sense of stability and strength. AS you inhale, breath into the earth and into the red roots. As you exhale, imagine  earth energy coming up into your base chakra. Repeat this for 5 to 10 minutes 2 or 3 times a day.

To sum up:

Chakras are energy centers in our body that regulate the flow of energy throughout our physical and spiritual bodies. Each chakra is important for our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. A healthy chakra system is essential for maintaining overall health and wellness as it ensures that our body’s energy flows freely, preventing physical and emotional imbalances.

When our chakras are balanced and flowing freely, we feel grounded, centered, and connected to ourselves and others. However, when our chakras are blocked or out of balance, we may experience physical symptoms, emotional issues, and spiritual disconnect.

There are many different practices and techniques that can help cleanse, balance, and heal our chakras. These include yoga, meditation, essential oils, crystals, and sound therapy. By tuning into our bodies and paying attention to any signs of imbalance, we can begin to explore what works best for us and create a more balanced and harmonious life.

  1. Hi Maya,

I found this article great but I have objection on one thing and that is use of the word ‘Asian’.

Chakras and all yoga is the soul of Indian philosophy and originated from India only.
Later on Buddists also inheritated the same.

So by using the word ‘Asian’ are you not snatching the credit from the right inventor who is India.
    Thanks
    Dhananjay

    • Hi Dhananjay. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad you like the article. In response to your concern about the word Asian in the context of the heart chakra and “The Asians say that this is the house of the soul.” I totally agree that Yoga originated in India, and at the beginning of the article it clearly stated that “The word ‘chakra’ is derived from the sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’. Literally translated from the Hindi it means ‘Wheel of spinning Energy’. Thereby acknowledging that the original philosophy has its roots in India and yoga. ~ Maya

      • Well said,Maya. I appreciate the the intricate simplicity in which you used to explain this often over complicated life hack that we all get to benefit from:)

      • I’m from India too. I disagree with Dhananjay’s claim of right inventor as India. If we observe carefully, any spiritual or medical practice that originated from India in lines of good will / wisdom for humanity will not have a single name or date tagged to it in the past. This is because whoever found this wanted to pass on the information selflessly. Such a person who’s selfless is a true yogi. Ownership on the knowledge does not make him/her a yogi. I understand where the frustration is coming from, since there are reports that some of medicinal practices from these ancient India have been hijacked and rechristened and copyrighted by foreign governments. I request you to see the final reach this knowledge has. It heals people mentally, physically and spiritually. I think the intent of the person who shared this knowledge was right. I’m happy to have read this post. Thank you Maya!

      • Unfortunately, my children are being taught that Asian is the “correct” (politically) term for any people originating from half of Russia, do w through the middle East, and everything east to the middle of the Pacific ocean. Quite easier to lump all than teach/explain about all the vast cultures, lives and would throughout. Sad

    • Everything is originated from egypt….

    • They always do that unfortunately :/
Us Indians aren’t important these days or shall I say decades
      God bless u all

    • India is part of Asia and hence the people are asian.

    • but indians are asian, they’re south asian

    • India is part of Asia; as well as Uzbekistan, Khazakstan, Nepal, Tibet and Myanmar

    • Are you all really fighting over the origin of this knowledge?
It’s God, plain and simple. To argue that it comes from man is arrogance are it’s finest.

    Can you help me?

  11. hello ma’am , i started concentrating on my root chakra last month. but from last week i started having headache and i cant concentrate on base chakra

Muchas gracias. 13. I have been seeing someone who claims to be a spiritual advisor specializing in Chakra. After a few meetings she is now telling me I have been cursed and needs a large monetary sacrifice. I have felt my life has been out of balance for some time and was hoping to become in sync with my mind, body & spirit. Is this normal practice for chakra healing?

    • Hi Kenya,
      In my opinion NO
with that said we all need to make a living and if you are able to donate a gift that is always appreciated. But to say you need to pay a chunk of change to remove a curse or negativity is either taking advantage or is a con working you.
I would go to a local spiritual shop, they often have workshops or people who offer specialized services for free or minimal fee. Which you know about before you invest your time and vulnerability to them. Like I said we all need to eat so I don’t find it out of line to charge a fee upfront for a special request but if it feels wrong it probably is. Trust your instincts.
A tool I like to use to check my chakras is a pendulum. It is amazing to see how things are spinning at first, then do your energy clearing and balancing. Then recheck your chakras and see that they are spinning correctly snd well balanced.
Don’t give up or get frustrated with this experience just keep looking for someone you connect with to either teach you how or will work on you. When you find the balance it feels like ahh I can breathe and is worth the effort.
      Gods speed
      Looocccy

    • To answer your question, no, it is not normal for a spiritual advisor specializing in Chakras to demand a large monetary sacrifice due to a supposed curse. This may indicate a potential scam or unethical practice. Legitimate spiritual advisors should provide guidance and recommendations based on their expertise and training, and should never pressure or manipulate their clients into making large financial contributions. It’s important to remember that spiritual practices should enhance your sense of well-being and should not cause anxiety, stress, or fear. If you feel uncomfortable or skeptical about a particular practice or recommendation, it’s okay to seek a second opinion or to choose a different approach altogether. Trust your own intuition and listen to your own inner guidance as you navigate your spiritual journey.

  14. Hi Maya,

Thank you so much for such a great article. It is very informative.

I just wanted to mention to people talking about the origins of the chakra concept and who gets the credit. When the creator is one then where is this concept of ownership coming from. This is not patented or IP registered by so called the creator. The concept of invoking the chakras within one’s self is a gift to the whole mankind and its the right of every one to experience it. There is no region or color atatched to it.

Please keep writing such great articles.

    Best Regards,
    PR

Is any Theta Binaural beats for 7 chakra cleaning and balancing.
pls give the link to download freely and listen every day to get the benefits.

  17. Great post! Thanks for sharing. I think it’s a very informative article for some starting on their personal development/spiritual journey. Most people only think about feeding or nurturing their physical body, or mental body. We also have an emotional body a spiritual body and an energetic body. The chakras being part of the energetic body at the core. When we balance our chakras we help to balance the rest of ourselves. There are many techniques to balance them, from acupuncture, chi-gong, tai-chi, yoga, sound therapy, color therapy and others. You can also play https://karmabucks.com Path to Enlightenment, a free mobile game that while playing takes you to the lessons of each chakra and helps you balance them…in addition, the background music also helps to balance them. Check it out. Best!

  18. I’ve been looking around for the position of the chakras and there seems to be some difference in the position of the lower ones.

The top three all seem about the same, but once you get below the heart there is a lot of variation. The lowest is defined as being in the perineum and the next on the coccyx in one book I’ve read, yet there are many diagrams showing the lowest on the coccyx and the next somewhere further up between the sacrum to opposite the navel. This then merges with the position of the solar plexus chakra.

    What do you think?

  19. Thanks for this great article. It gives me an enlightenment about this particular topic, which I forgot to include on my latest personal development book. Thanks for providing such a wonderful content..

  22. Hi Maya.
I just want to say this is a great post and I appreciate it alot since I had not known about CHAKRAS before, therefore really interested in learning more about opening them, though I am really concerned of the environment that surrounds me, I mean what type of environment should I be in to open my CHAKRAS?

  23. Hi Maya,

I live with my niece who is 7 and struggles with a lot of things including sever anxiety, adhd and ODD, along with a few other issues. Sometimes she just sort of gets out of control or will have melt downs (they arent her fault and you can tell she doesnt do it on purpose she has a lot of medical issues and things she deals with). A couple weeks ago i bought a neclace with a single rose quartz on it. One day when she was havng a melt down she grabbed onto the stone and almost instantly calmed down. I the slowly started to lightly run the stone over her 6th chakra and she was so relaxed and calm that she fell asleep within minutes. Since then i have eepeated that anytime shes had a melt down and she always calms down. Any chance you could shed a bit of light on this or any suggestions on other stones that might work just as well?

    • Hi Chloi. Thank you for your comment and question. Crystals are recipients and vessels for particular frequencies. We can use crystals to help us with a whole bunch of mind, body, spirit issues. It’s great that your niece responds to Rose Quartz. It is one of the master healing stones. Your nice is obviously very sensitive to her environment. I can not prescribe or diagnose what is right for your neice but I can tell you of my own experience.

I have found that Blue Lace Agate is a great one for calming anxiety. Hematite is fantastic for removing stress and anxiety from the body as it is so grounding. Black Tourmaline will remove the dense energy from the environment and replace it with a clear, clean, uplifting energy. I hope this helps.

      • Unfortunately, the entire concept and explanation of Chakra is great but all of the things mentioned are affected by our “environment”. Environment influences impact everything we do and work in some instances at odds with our physical and mental well being. Food, drugs, water, where we lives, our interactions, are often out of our control and I would like to get an explanation on how does Chakra help us to deal with these external influences that control us. I understand completely the concepts and how we must deal with self and our mental and physical states and achieving inner peace, but choices impact everything we do and those choices will bring different environmental influences. As you can see I am one confused soul. However, I enjoyed learning about Chakra but dealing with the real world brings about many different challenges that overwhelm our desire to be at peace with ourselves and the rest of mankind. TY

  24. can we activate the chakra points by touching them ?? i mean i have heard about acupressure techniques also and it does pressing and touching on the pulsative point to heal .?

  25. Dear miss Mendoza.
    I have a question👇

I feel meditation was missing for a long time but now i meditate everyday and i will say thats what i needed to finaly connect my whole body and Charkas.

  27. Is there a specific sequence one should follow when attempting to access one’s chakra? If so, is that sequence set in stone or can one focus on each chakra as needed?

  28. Hello, Maya and thank you for the article. I am wondering what the connection is between the chakras and vestibular issues (not sure what is medically wrong but, it feels like being on a seesaw while standing still sometimes). Is this due to lack of flow in the crown, brow or root chakra (or a combination)? I would like to remedy this without wasting more time on medical tests; any suggestions or information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    • Fluid built up in the head and ears. So it’s making you wobbly. Clear your sinuses and the chakras associated with this.

I am a musician, and have recently started balancing my chakras by singing one note of a scale while focusing on balancing my root chakra, then the next scale note while focusing on balancing the sacral chakra, etc. (I got the idea after reading some Steven Halpern album liner notes.) It works wonderfully! Since I am a bit new to the chakra knowledge, I googled to find more of the associations, and found this article. Super helpful – thank you!

  30. Last night I had a very lucid dream about my daughter in law, her mother, and her eight month old son. The were all dressed up in beautiful yellow gowns. They were dressed to go to ball or some very formal event. But I was struck that they all had on these beautiful yellow gowns. When I read about the chakras, their colors, and their location and its meaning, I thought that the dream had some meaning to my digestive tract and the other organs associated with is this chakra. From my very limited knowledge of chakras this is my first insight. Maya, Is there any more that you might see from this dream and its association to this chakra?

Hi, I am a mess.in last 10 yrs, much trauma, sickness, stress fractures, colon removed, neck shoulder and low back injury, loss of my son, another divorce, problems with grown children, how do u unblock my chakras?

  35. I’m new to the Idea and Philosophy of Chakras, but it sounds interesting. I’ve been to a few alternative healers, who often looked at and talked to me about my chakras. When I was 22, all seemed to be aligned well, except maybe a minor slow in the throat chakra, but I was feeling depressed, and chronically distracted, suffering from a still undiagnosed condition called ADHD. This summer, two weeks ago, I went to see another healer, who told me that my earth chakra was misaligned. I was dealing with stress, and anxiety, inability to concentrate, and plan for the future. Maybe my chakras are all turning powerfully, but with the amount of difficulty I’m having, I reckon they may all be suffering from a few blocks, that stop them from directing their energy efficiently.
That said, I’ve recently found a method that helps me get better, smarter, stronger.
I start my mornings with the Wim Hof (Iceman) method, Breathing exercises to overload my body with oxygen, then hold my breath, to wake up adrenalin and serotonin, then breath normally, while doing pushups and other vigorous exercise, followed by stretching.
After that, I fill up a bathtub with cold water, and jump in. I stay in for a while, get used to the cold, have a hot shower, to relax, then finish up with another cold spurt to keep me on my toes.
After a routine like that, I feel happy, relaxed, and far more balanced than any other routine I’ve tried previously.
I’m going to keep on studying Chakras, and science, to see what connection they all have in common, and how I can use them most effectively to evolve myself from wimpy idiot to clever powerhouse.

  43. what chakra is blocked that causes demisia or alzhiemers?

  44. I’m 65 and have never been sick, at least since the age of 15 when I first started karate in 1968 while everyone else was on LSD and every other hippy drug. My instructors were very spiritual pointing me to the right books to read as well as to the right frame of mind to have. Since ’65, many have commented how positive I am. Also, because I’m so positive and healthy, it’s hard to find birds of a feather. People in general want to do 2 things. They want to show that they know more than others and they want to point out someone’s flaw or flaws. Perhaps this gives them a feeling of importance, like pointing out incorrect statements that aren’t politically correct. People have become overly sensitive to what they “perceive” as wrong. I’ve noticed some of these sensitive people focus on one word, Asian, missing the beauty of the forest by concentrating on just one twig. My response is that it would be easier to control the rising and setting of the sun that to control the emotions of negative people. This page is perfect in both the simplicity of words and it’s message and I thank you for it and it’s additional links. And this is from one who can only see the beauty of the forest as a whole.

Hi Maya. I’m scared to death. My third eye is only half way open. I can speak to spirits. I’ve also met some pretty scary ones. I was wondering if this was against God? What am I supposed to do with this ability? I’m all the way confused but understand that I’m very rare. Mine has always been there. What do I do? How do I know which of all that applies to me?

Though I have a doubt, I have been practicing balance chakras, on youtube I found several videos having music or frequency tune which claims hearing them will clean/balance chakras, is it true ? do hearing them via headfone actually helps in balancing chakras ?

    • Hey Vikram. Thank you for your comment and interest in vibrational medicine and sound therapies. Sound therapies work by using vibrations and frequencies to kick start the release of tension and energy blocks within the physical ans subtle bodies. These vibrations stimulate the cells and tissues, helping you to relax more deeply. They help to generate a free flow of energy throughout your systems. This can help people to feel more calm, centered, and in alignment with our inner selves. If you are using binaural beats then you will need to listen with headphones.
