“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never
reads lives only one.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Dance With Dragons
There is no doubt that reading is an enjoyable hobby but can it also be the way to becoming a better person as well? Anyone who has read some of the finest inspirational literature around will enthusiastically tell you how a good book can help you live the kind of life you are after.
The Fictional Approach
Some inspirational books make their points through the use of fictional characters and situations. This is the case with the likes of The Alchemist and The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. These books show us how it is possible to turn our situations around and live out our dreams. The characters often go through great hardships but their eventual enlightenment or success shows us how we can achieve the same no matter how difficult it appears to be.
The Religious Approach
There are many inspirational religious books but it is hard to argue with the incredible success of The Bible over various centuries. The statistics for this book are astonishing and it is almost certainly the most widely read and most printed book in the world ever, as well as having being translated to a staggering number of languages.
The Advice Based Approach
Other books such as How to Win Friends and Influence People and The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People look at giving practical advice directly to their readers. This method has worked a treat for a great many people and helps explain the on-going popularity of both titles with so many readers.
Ian Arnison-Phillips is an online copywriter who has read some fantastic books. He uses blogger outreach to help tell other people about them.
